Open Enrollment Applications (1st Lottery)


The window for submitting Open Enrollment (1st Lottery) applications opens Monday, Jan. 10 at 9 AM and closes Friday, January 28 at 4:00 PM. This application window is for:

  • New and continuing students who live within PUSD boundaries (Altadena, Pasadena, Sierra Madre) who wish to apply for schools other than their school of residence or for a dual language immersion program (DLIP)

  • Children of PUSD employees (verification required)

  • Families who missed the sibling/priority application period

First lottery results are available by noon on February 17. Participants who are offered a placement at their 1st choice school must complete the online registration process between 9 AM on Feb. 18 and 4 PM on Feb. 28. Participants who are not offered their 1st choice school and wish to be included in the 2nd round of the lottery do NOT register at this time, but must select “Continue to Next Round.”
