(Vea abajo para español) While we can’t yet know everything about what to expect when the new school year starts in August, the transition to kindergarten is one we can begin to anticipate and help our children prepare for. With the help of a kinder teacher and some “veteran” parents, we’ll talk about things like bedtimes and routines, and also about what it means to be an "engaged” parent. NOTE: The district plans to offer a “nuts-and-bolts” presentation about kindergarten on April 20. (Check the Parent University calendar for details.) PEN’s “Hello Kinder” program will be more discussion-based, with an emphasis on how parents can prepare for a smooth transition.

Si bien todavía no podemos saber todo sobre qué esperar cuando comience el nuevo año escolar en agosto, la transición al jardín de infantes es una que podemos comenzar a anticipar y para ayudar a nuestros hijos a prepararse.
