On Wednesday, April 1, Pasadena Unified School District issued an announcement that read in part:

"Based on recommendations from state and local health and education authorities, the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) will extend remote learning through May 28, the last day of school for students. School facilities will not reopen before the end of the academic year due to the coronavirus crisis, but classes will remain in session via remote learning. To be clear, the 2019-2020 school year is not over; it has just transitioned from classroom instruction into distance learning through May 28, 2020, the last day of school for PUSD students.
